Devin Hermanson | STRATEGY AND FILM

Devin is a lifelong innovator and founded MOYO after successful careers in online commerce and nonprofit marketing. 

After a stint at Microsoft, Devin was part of the founding team and the Director of Marketing for Aptimus, a direct marketing company that grew to become the 10th most-trafficked commerce site on the Internet and a publicly traded company.

He also cofounded his own company, GoNextdoor.com, which was a precursor to businesses such as Yelp and Groupon in the local, online commerce space. In this role, he often presented at and chaired conferences on Internet marketing and merchandising across the United States. 

Fulfilling a dream to work for nonprofits, Devin joined World Vision, one of the world's largest nonprofits. During his career there, he led the World Vision Gift Catalog through ten years of dramatic growth to become one of the organizations largest programs, launched innovative social media campaigns, and produced World Vision's first viral video. 

During his time at World Vision, Devin was interviewed by over 100 media outlets, including Good Morning America, Time magazine, and ABC News. 

With an Art degree from Whitman College and an MBA from Boston University, as well as experience as a film maker, Devin is an unusual mix of business discipline and creative vision. He is driven by a desire to help nonprofits create cultures that cultivate innovation and programs and experiences that inspire loyalty among donors.

ANNA GRAVES | STRATEGY AND BRANDING

Anna is a seasoned branding expert with more than fifteen years of experience growing and developing some of the world’s most iconic brands. She is a visionary leader with the ability to manage and inspire across countries and cultures. Her unique skill set combines both the art and science of marketing, enabling her to understand the true essence of the brand and its consumer. She has developed a proven track record of increasing brand sales and profitability through solid strategy and flawless execution. 

Anna’s experience with start-ups taught her to work on a shoestring budget, while her tenure with CPG giants such as P&G, Avon, and Estee Lauder provided her with paradigms of best-in-class practices.  She is eager to help nonprofits define the quintessential essence of their brands, translate it to all donor touch points, and in turn create loyal, passionate brand fans that will elevate the brand beyond what’s currently imaginable.

Anna has a BS from Cornell University and a Master of Business Administration from New York University. She currently serves on the President’s Council of Cornell Women, an organization that promotes women’s issues, and enjoys advising young entrepreneurs on their business plans. Her hobbies include photography, running, travel, and pretty much anything you can do outdoors.

MICHELLE RUTTER | MERCHANDISING AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Michelle is a results-oriented marketing professional with more than twenty years’ experience leading efforts for some of the world’s most recognized brands such as Disney, Miramax, Mattel, and World Vision. 

Michelle fulfilled her childhood dream of working for the Walt Disney Company where she spent seven years in the Marketing and Brand Management Department. When the theme park expanded into a resort in 2001, Michelle oversaw marketing and branding for the three hotels and Downtown Disney. She was also responsible for the successful marketing rollout of Disney’s Fastpass program, which changed the way guests experience waiting in lines at theme parks. 

Michelle then spent three years with Mattel, Inc. developing and marketing products for their portfolio of toy brands including Barbie, Hot Wheels and Polly Pocket. 

In 2006, Michelle joined World Vision’s Sponsorship Division helping to connect and build relationships between sponsors and their sponsored children.  Shortly after, she assumed leadership of the Extra Gifts Program, which was designed to raise funds from the existing sponsorship membership. Under her guidance, the program grew by 28%, raising over $140 million. In addition, during her six-year tenure, Michelle managed the Gift Catalog and Single Gift Programs during a period of record growth.

Since leaving World Vision in 2012, Michelle has consulted for many nonprofit clients, using her passion and strategic and creative expertise to assist organizations in strategic planning, developing and executing integrated fundraising campaigns, reporting and analysis, product/offer development, and branding.

LEIGH ALLEN-ARRENDONDO | USER EXPERIENCE 

Leigh is a UX professional who's made a career of designing innovative solutions for complex human needs. 

Her 25 year career has involved roles with many consumer oriented companies such as Getty Images and Amazon. 

As Lead UX Manager for Amazon, Leigh drove UX strategy for over 10 groups, managing a team of designers in creating innovative experiences for authors, publishers, and readers. 

Additionally, Leigh has completed projects for companies from Fortune 100s to start-ups, delivering experiences that align business and customer needs, and exceed user's expectations. 

Leigh has a BFA in Film from San Francisco State University and is passionate about helping purpose driven organizations tell their story and create amazing donor experiences. 

 

CLINTON CARLSON | DESIGN AND USER EXPERIENCE

Clinton is a designer, researcher, and educator with a background that combines traditional design, design research, and experience design. 

As a traditional designer, he has worked extensively with nonprofit organizations to define their brands and tell their stories. His work includes brand identity, catalog, direct mail, annual report, publication, package, information, and interactive design. His work has been exhibited and published internationally and included in the AIGA National Design Archives. 

As a design researcher, Clinton has worked on projects that address underserved public interest issues, such as food recalls, student loans, instructional coaching, Dengue fever, suicide, substance abuse, and sexually transmitted diseases. His work on these topics has been presented at six peer-reviewed academic conferences and been published in two books and three academic journals. 

In addition, Clinton helped develop the “xD Program” for Tekzenit, a multinational design and development organization. The program contributed to a user-centered culture among designers through a three-month UX research and design curriculum that was initiated as a recruiting and onboarding tool for the organization.  

With a BFA in design from the University of Nebraska-Kearney and an MDES in design from the University of Alberta, Clinton is a user-focused innovator who utilizes evidence-based design and research methods to redesign or imagine new experiences that solve human problems.

ALAN BROZOVICH | TECHNOLOGY AND DEVELOPEMENT 

Alan is a talented developer with 15+ years of experience building commerce tools, websites, and managing teams for some of the world's biggest brands. Alan has deep experience taking websites from a back-of-a-napkin sketch to live — he is passionate about simple, clear design and delivering solutions that improve users’ lives. 

As a web developer and an engineering manager at Amazon, Alan served as the front-end technical lead on numerous new product line and country website launches. As VP at a Seattle startup, Alan was responsible for product roadmap and technical and marketing services. His blend of technology and business experience means he approaches every project within the larger context of the clients’ overall strategy.

Alan has a BA in English from Seattle Pacific University. He plays funk and jazz guitar, is an avid board gamer, and loves not-too-early-morning coffee with his wife and their two teenagers. Service is a big part of his life, and he has been teaching web development and programming at Rosslyn Academy in Nairobi, Kenya since 2011.

SANDY ROBERTS | DESIGN AND USER EXPERIENCE

Sandy Roberts is an idea-driven designer with a knack for creating perfect harmony between the vision of a brand and perceptions of a target audience—creating clear, effective communication. Steeped in agency cultures and creative teams throughout Washington, she's gained extensive experience in a myriad of industries and applications.

As a designer for both print and interactive media, Sandy has worked with information-driven clients such as Microsoft, Boeing, and Intel on a wide spectrum of projects from product launches and advertising campaigns to branding development. She has also created extensive branding campaigns to include website design, UX and e-marketing for companies such as Elsie Green, Univera, Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, and The Zoo Society.

With a passion for work that affects lives with hope and upward mobility, Sandy packed up her design and marketing expertise, left the corporate sector, and chose to work almost exclusively for nonprofit clients such as World Vision, Earth Economics, and Crista Ministries, making her a natural fit for the MOYO team. 

 

CARRIE BANCROFT | PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Carrie Bancroft is a seasoned project manager, marketer and MBA with an eye for design, an aptitude for technology, and a passion for for process efficiency. 

In her 15+ years of freelancing in New York, San Francisco and Seattle, Carrie has shepherded the launch of products, digital campaigns, websites, events and print collateral for established businesses, start-ups and non-profits. 

As a digital marketer, Carrie combines strategic vision with tactical execution to produce content marketing and demand generation programs in the fields of legal, medical devices, non-profit healthcare and political advocacy. She has also developed and overseen marketing project launches for subsidiaries of Danaher, LexisNexis, and Boeing. 

Carrie has a BA in Latin American Studies from Carleton College (MN) and an MBA in Sustainable Management from Pinchot University (WA). Her passions include biking, horseback riding, camping under the stars, and having fun-filled adventures with her 5-year-old son.

Lisa Halpern | WriteR and producer

Lisa has often been called a unicorn, due to her broad skill set and ability to create compelling stories in a wide swath of formats from digital content and brand personalities to print, interactive media, corporate video and film.

An award-winning storyteller, Lisa has over 18 years of experience and a strong track record creating persuasive content across industries, formats and channels. She has created impactful solutions for Fortune 500 companies, entertainment groups, tech leaders, government agencies, ad agencies, non-profits and more including Microsoft, Starbucks, Target, National Geographic, The City of Seattle, Hedgebrook, and The Wyland Foundation. 

A three-year stint at Microsoft Advertising centered on creating an in-house video studio where Lisa trained producers and production crew. She also wrote, directed and produced 25 videos a year, an experience that utilized and expanded her creative vision and project management skills.

Lisa studied Comparative Literature at the University of Washington and has a BFA from Cornish College. She currently serves on the City of Seattle’s Race and Social Justice Initiative Affiliates Group, a collective whose mission is to keep the city accountable to upholding the Race and Social Justice Initiative. Hobbies include swimming, travel, gardening and jewelry making.
